Jane Gerster is a health reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press in Manitoba.

Jane has an MFA in narrative nonfiction writing from Baltimore’s Goucher College and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.
She won the Goff Penny award as one of Canada's best young journalists in 2016. Jane was shortlisted for a 2017 EPPY in the community service category for reporting about assisted dying. She served as the 2017 media fellow for the Canadian Association on Gerontology. She was a 2017 Canadian Association of Journalists awards finalist in the 'Daily Excellence' category. Jane is a 2018 Logan Nonfiction Fellow with the Carey Institute for Global Good.
